Once again, help has arrived through personal commitment.
The first two drivers have left us. The TOYOTA has been handed over. Thanks to Alexander and Matthias.
The first to leave are Pavlo and his friend, who are going straight to Kharkiv.
Bogdan (middle) has become a father... we had to bring something.๐๐ As always, a warm and nice evening.๐
Offspring 1 day old.
530 km to Kharkiv. There we meet Pavlo and then we sort things out.
Kharkiv has been reached.
Rolling hospital is already on site.
We delivered the premature baby beds.
Thank yous. At the end of a long day and after handing over the ambulances to the 225, all supporters from Sankt Augustin were honored. They received a certificate (the two certificates shown are representative) and a medal. The small ceremony took place in the forest. It shows the appreciation for our help.
The sad side. The luggage of the fallen soldiers. Many individual fates. Our ambulance will help to perhaps save some lives in the future.
The Toyota has been handed over. Thanks to Ralf for letting us use it free of charge. The vehicle is used here to transport slightly injured soldiers or to pick them up from rehab.
Handover of an ambulance to the 93rd.
Unit 225 will also receive an ambulance.
There is also some additional equipment such as the scoop stretcher. This allows you to pick up patients without moving them. This is very important for back injuries.
We supplied the local animal shelter with animal feed.
And then there was the idea in the refugee camp, 1 ice cream for every child.
You can quickly save children from their worries for a few hours.
First good deed of the day. The suitcase goes to a small evacuation team. They are quite happy, as there are always babies with them. Unfortunately, there are also some with health problems.
The last vehicles we handed over were the large ambulance and the bus.
The bus was a cooperation with our friends from the Eifel.
The Eifellichter were able to provide us with the vehicle, Dirk, our mechanic, took over the bus and invested a lot of money and time into it to make it roadworthy again.
For this, a huge thank you to Dirk and his company MTB.
Many helpers packed the bus as full as possible and secured the load.
Then our Peter came into action, Peter is our customs weapon (he almost always gets everything done, which isn't easy). A huge thank you to you too, dear Peter! Peter was kind enough to drive the bus 2,600 km to Isjum. Anyone who has ever taken the bus from Sankt Augustin to Bonn can imagine the trip in 36 degrees and without air conditioning. ๐
The bus now belongs to a brigade that uses it to transport soldiers and evacuate civilians.
Help that arrives and help that is only possible because many cogs mesh together.
Four-stretcher ambulance was handed over
Facebook post by Sascha Lienesch:
"4-stretcher ambulance arrived in #Ukraine.
Do you remember that I organized a discarded and defective 4-stretcher ambulance from the stocks of the Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance (BBK) and that it was given to the association "Sankt Augustin and friends helps" free of charge? I have already reported on this here. My colleague from the Bundestag, Norbert Rรถttgen, also supported me with a joint letter.
It is always great to see when concrete help actually arrives. Currently, some of the club's activists are in Ukraine and have handed over the vehicle to the Ukrainian military.
Colonel Kashchishyn Valery Mykolayovych (Commander of the 44th separate mechanized brigade) received the vehicle with some of his comrades.
The vehicle will be used near Izyum, which is located between Kharkiv and Kramatorsk.
The vehicle, which would probably have been scrapped soon in Germany, was repaired by the association at its own expense and is still doing good service at the front, transporting wounded from field hospitals to hospitals. What's special about it is that the vehicle has four stretchers, so that four patients can be transported at the same time.
Thanks to Gunther Maassen and his team from "Sankt Augustin & friends helps" for all the important volunteer work. I will continue to support you wherever I can."

We received the volunteer medal from the 93rd for our achievements.
It applies to all of us and expresses their deep gratitude towards us.
Help that arrives.
Small but nice, the refrigerator is needed to cool medications. And, what you don't think about, to keep them from freezing in winter.
If anyone still has one, please let me know. Car coolers (12v & 24v with 230V connection) are also in great demand.
Simple, well-preserved boxes also help. No bags or backpacks, please.
Looks funny, but can quickly become serious. Thanks to UVEX, who supported us with the equipment.
The UA Army determines daily whether and where we should wear them.
Old acquaintance
We also met the ambulance from July 2023 again.
Today, July 23rd, the remaining drivers arrive.
At this point we would like to thank all supporters of the convoy for their help.
